There are 3 VISITOR MOORINGS in Dale Bay intended for short stays or an overnight stop, on a first come basis - no bookings - all other moorings are private or commercial moorings and are not available for visitors.

PLEASE DO NOT PICK UP ANY OTHER MOORINGS.

We suggest a minimum donation of £10 for an overnight or full day’s stay.

The visitor moorings are for temporary use only and we encourage consideration towards others who might want to use them – please do not reserve them by leaving a tender on them.

The 3 moorings are on the northern side of the bay and mark the eastern edge of the Dale Seagrass Meadow to provide an alternative to anchoring for visiting boats and to help protect the seagrass meadow from damage.

They are rated for vessels of 40 ft and 10 tons maximum.

Swansea University has paid for the purchase, installation and insurance on these moorings, but this is only guaranteed for the next few years. For the moorings to remain as a facility we need to build up some reserves so that they can be self-financing – this is why we encourage donations.

The moorings are managed by the Dale Seagrass Stakeholder Group – any surplus after servicing the moorings will be used for local environmental or well-being projects.

For more information about the Dale Seagrass project please go to: www.daleseagrass.org

Please do not anchor in the moorings or in the Dale Seagrass Meadow, which is clearly marked with white conical buoys.

SHOWERS & CHANGING ROOMS

Our shower facilities are open to Club members and crews of visiting yachts throughout the sailing season.  You need a token to operate the showers, which are available from Coco's bar.  These are free for Club members however there is a nominal charge for non-members.

Unfortunately the showers are not accessible when Coco's is closed.

BOAT TRAILERS

Please do not leave vehicles or trailers on the beach.

Vehicles should be parked in the village car park but trailers must not be parked in the car park or elsewhere in the village

Trailers can be parked at Kete car park on St Ann's Head.

We have a short-term dinghy park behind the village car park which is available during June, July & August.  Please contact the Dinghy & Tender Park Officer for more information.

DALE SLIPWAY

FLOODGATES:

At times of very high tides the Community Council may close the floodgates at the top of the slipway to prevent danger of flooding to properties in Dale.  The Club fully support this action.  The floodgates may be closed for several tides and during these periods there is no access to the slipway.  For queries contact the Club Secretary.

Dale Yacht Club allows members of the public to use the slipway, but no right of access is inferred by this.

The slipway may be closed to vehicles or to all users at certain times especially during sailing events and junior sailing evenings for the launch and recovery of dinghies.

DALE PONTOONS

The Shore pontoon has now been removed for the winter.  It will be back in place in April 2024.

Shore pontoon – This is tidal.

There is a maximum stay of 24 hours with no return within 12 hours.  This includes all boats – yachts, tenders, RIBs, dinghies etc.

Please do not moor at the end of the pontoon which should be left free for drop off/pick up only – marked with a yellow line.

Outer pontoon

This remains afloat at all states of tide and is suitable for deep draft yachts.
